Dr Tuğba Bağcı Önder graduated from Bilkent University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2002. In 2008, she completed her PhD in Neuroscience at the Sackler Institute for Biomedical Sciences at Tufts University. During her doctoral research, she investigated the roles of a novel receptor/ligand duo Neuropilin-1/Sema3A in brain tumour cells. Afterwards, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School on tumour-specific therapies in mouse models. Since 2012, he has been the founder and faculty member of the Brain Cancer Therapy and Research Centre at Koç University School of Medicine. Her research interests include epigenetic mechanisms of brain cancer therapy and dissemination. His work is supported by TUBITAK, the European Union, KUSOM, Loreal-Unesco and the Academy of Science.
