Prof. Dr. Mehmet Inan received his Ph.D. from the Department of Food Science and Technology (Lincoln-NE-USA) at the University of Nebraska in 2000. Between 2000-2002, he did Post-Doc studies at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Nebraska. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering between 2002-2008. He served as the Manager of the Molecular Biology Laboratory (MBL) of the Biological Process Development Unit (BPDF). During his years at BPDF, he has been involved in vaccine, drug, and enzyme production studies, primarily for private companies. He conducted recombinant vaccine, drug production, and process development studies with yeast and bacteria. He has been a primary investigator and researcher in various NIH and NSF-funded projects. Between 2008 and 2010, he worked at Alder Biopharmaceuticals (Bothel WA, USA) as Yeast Engineering group leader, responsible for Cell line development for antibody production against rheumatoid arthritis and migraine. Dr. Mehmet İnan started to work as an Associate Professor at Akdeniz University in 2010 and was appointed as a professor in 2013. Between 2013-2019, he was the Director of Akdeniz University Food Safety and Agricultural Research Center. On February 1, 2019, he started to work as the Protein Engineering Laboratory Research Group Leader at the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center with full-time status stipulated by the law numbered 6550. Since 2020, he has been the IBG Industrial R&D program and IBG FARMA director. He is leading the Recombinant COVID-19 vaccine development studies at IBG. Prof. Dr. Mehmet İNAN was the coordinator of 6 projects supported by TÜBİTAK and took part in 2 projects as a researcher. He was the recipient of the EU 7FP Marie Curie International Re-Integration Grants (IRG) Project between 2010-2014. He supervised 5 Ph.D. and 11 Master's theses. Prof. Dr. Mehmet İnan has numerous international scientific articles, conference and symposium presentations, book chapters and translations, and 5 patents approved by the US patent office. He serves on the editorial boards of Protein Expression and Purification, Biotech Studies, and Turkish Journal of Biology journals.
