Assoc. Prof. Hilal
Yazıcı

Assoc. Prof. Hilal Yazici joined TUBITAK-MAM, as a senior researcher in 2016. She was holding Medical Biotechnology Group Leader Position under Life Sciences since 2022. Before joining TUBITAK-MAM, She was a postdoctoral researcher at Northeastern University (2014-2016), University of Potsdam and Technical University of Berlin (2012-2014). She had her PhD in the field of biomimetic materials and bionanotechnology under collaborative research in between University of Washington Material Science Engineering and Istanbul Technical University, Molecular Biology and Genetics Department (2011). Her research interests and experience since 2002 span in the areas of bio-enabled materials, implants, nanoparticle-based therapies, bioproduction of biological drugs (biosimilars, biotechnologial drugs etc) and its application in drug delivery towards nanostructures. She was awarded by The Turkish Academy of Sciences as an Outstanding Young Scientist in 2019. She involved several project as PI and researcher in the field of biomaterials, bionanotechnology, drug development funded by TUBITAK, ICGEB (International Center of Genetic Engeering and Biotechnology Center), NSF and NIH (USA) in the fields of drug development, biomass, bio-nanotechnologies. Dr Yazici is the PI of Covid 19 Turkiye Platform, which is of critical importance in our country, since 2022.
Dr. Hilal YAZICI, who serves in the governing and advisory boards of TUBITAK and ICGEB, is one of the editors of the book entitled “Biomedical Nanomaterials: From design to Implementation”, published by the IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology). She published many articles in high-ranked journals, conference presentations, and book sections.
