Çakan Akdoğan

Dr. Cakan is an experienced researcher in the fields of molecular biology, protein biochemistry and zebrafish models. She obtained her PhD from European Molecular Biology Labooratory (Heildeblerg) and completed her postdoctoral studies at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg. She established her independent lab in 2019 with a focus on zebrafish disease models and therapy development. Currently she is leading one H2020 funded projects, 3 government funded projects and taking part in 5 government/industry funded projects as a researcher. Her main interest is to develop transgenic/mutant zebrafish models to validate clinically relevant biomarkers, test treatment approaches to facilitate the transition from bench to bedside. She collaborates actively with clinicians, biotech companies and international research partners.
