Dr. Cavit
Ağca

Dr. Cavit Agca has received his PhD from the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans in 2008. Dr. Agca has a long-term interest in visual systems and several aspects of associated molecular mechanisms. For several years, he worked on evolutionary perspectives of vision under the supervision of Dr. William H. Klein in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Afterward, he has worked under the supervision of Dr. Christian Grimm in the Department of Ophthalmology, at the University of Zurich. His main focus was to identify the mechanisms related to endogenous neuroprotection in the retina. Dr. Agca also did a brief postdoc at Inselspital, Bern on retinal vein occlusion models. Currently, he is working as a researcher at SUNUM. The research focus is on; artificial transcription factors, gene therapy, protein delivery systems, liposomal drug delivery systems, non-human primate research.
