NanoBio4Can Team Visits ATABAY
September 10, 2026As part of the NanoBio4Can Industry Experience Days, NanoBio4Can MSCA Cofund project fellows, together with the project coordination team, had the pleasure of visiting one of our associated project partners, Atabay Pharmaceuticals and Fine Chemicals, at its Gebze, Kocaeli facility.
Turgay Kaçar, Biotechnology R&D Manager, warmly welcomed the team, presented Atabay's ongoing biotechnology and drug development activities and projects, and led an interactive discussion with the fellows. The programme then continued at the production facilities, where the team introduced different stages of pharmaceutical manufacturing, explained the production process of Parol, and showed the group the reactors and related production infrastructure.
Moving from discussions on biotechnology-based drug development to observing pharmaceutical production processes on site gave the fellows an opportunity to see different stages of industrial pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing within the same visit.
We sincerely thank the Atabay Pharmaceuticals and Fine Chemicals team for their warm hospitality. We extend our special thanks to Doğan Taşkent, Director of Strategy and R&D, for his valuable support in facilitating the visit, and to Turgay Kaçar for generously sharing his expertise throughout the scientific and technical programme. We also thank Mehmet Adil Kaya, Director of Technical Operations, for coordinating the facility tour, and Yiğitşen Batır for supporting the visit.
