Project Name:
Tuneable MXene-based injectable nanohydrogels for breast cancer chemo-photothermal therapy (MXigel)
Project Summary:
Breast cancer remains the most prevalent and fatal cancer in women globally, with an increasing incidence expected in the coming years. Despite advancements in targeted nanomedicines and therapies, challenges such as low biocompatibility, non-specific targeting, and tumor heterogeneity hinder effective treatment and clinical translation. This project aims to develop a smart multifunctional nanodelivery systems using an injectable shear-thinning hydrogels and targeted MXene-based nanocomposites for combination therapy of breast cancer. The proposed system is anticipated to enhance therapeutic efficacy, optimize biodistribution, and overcome critical limitations associated with current nanomedicine-based treatment strategies.
